What is ChAP?

ChAP is the Chippenham Area Partnership, a voluntary group that represents the community of Chippenham and 14 nearby villages.

It is open to individuals, and to representatives of
·        Community groups
·        The commercial community
·        Parish and Town councils
·        Any other local bodies with community needs

ChAP is independent of all political parties.

ChAP’s role is to consult the needs of the community, publish them in a regularly updated Community Plan, and champion them with the local authority and other service providers.

ChAP also delivers improvements itself through action teams, or ‘Special Interest Groups’.

There are ChAP teams for the Environment, Culture & Leisure, Health & Social Care, and Economy & Regeneration.

The latter also has separate action teams concerned with regenerating Chippenham - Town centre; The River; Transport, traffic & parking; Business & employment; Tourism & facilities; Inequality & aspiration.

There is more about these teams and how to join them on the web-site.
